SBEM - Simplified Building Energy Model
All new commercial, industrial and retail buildings must now have an SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) certificate to comply with building regulations. We at EPCarlson offer SBEM assessments for commercial premises of all sizes, at highly favourable rates.
SBEM calculations assess the energy performance and carbon emissions of new commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations (Part L). Our reliable, accredited Commercial Energy Assessors promise to:
• Smoothly guide clients through the SBEM process
• Offer support and guidance to ensure buildings get a PASS certificate.
• Offer fast, effective service
• Aim to get every Simplified Building Energy Model assessment completed within five working days.
To ensure compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations, the designed Building Emission Rate (BER) is compared against a Target Emission Rate (TER) calculated by the SBEM software. BER should be lower than, or equal to, the TER to pass compliance. Energy efficiency is then displayed as a rating between 1 and 100, graded A to G. The SBEM - Simplified Building Energy Model is performed in two stages; the first at the planning application stage and the second when the building is finished.
We at EPCarlson are experts in all matters concerning Part L compliancy and SBEM certification. We aim to offer a high value service, with the most competitive quotes on the market

Explaining the SBEM - Simplified Building Energy Model
The SBEM - Simplified Building Energy Model is a standardised system developed by the government, using a computer program that calculates energy consumption and carbon emissions of newly built commercial and non-residential buildings, such as offices, shops and factories.
