Standard Assessment Procedure is the only government-approved system for assessing the rating for any new property. It is to ensure the property is in full compliance with all modern building regulations as well as supplying energy ratings for new homes.
The SAP takes many factors into account, for example, the size of the property, heating and ventilation systems, air conditioning and other details. It assesses the energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions for that property.
The calculations are based on predefined levels of comfort, occupancy and service provision for a property of that type and size. The graded rating value between A and G represents the final value.
At Edward P. Carlson, we assist with every aspect of the SAP, including planning application sustainability checklists and air pressure testing.
